TERMS
Terms and conditions
The terms on which we sell. Written in plain English on purpose. If anything here is unclear, call us and we will explain it.

Prices
Every price includes VAT and includes delivery to the UK mainland. Nothing is added at checkout.
We deliver everywhere else too, including the Highlands, the islands and Northern Ireland. Delivery there is quoted separately rather than being excluded. The delivery page explains how that works.
We may change our prices, but never after you have ordered. What you paid is what you paid.
Your order
When you pay, you are making us an offer. Your order is accepted when we email you a confirmation, and that is the point a contract exists between us.
Most orders take around 5 to 6 weeks, depending on the piece and how busy the workshop is. We will confirm yours when we take your order.
Delivery is kerbside, by courier. Moving the piece from the kerb is the customer's responsibility.
Very occasionally we might not be able to make what you have ordered. If that happens we will tell you as soon as we know and refund you in full.
Payment
We take payment in full when you order, through Stripe. Your card details go straight to Stripe and we never see or hold them.
Bespoke commissions work differently, because the work is spread over a longer period. We take a 50% deposit when we accept the commission and the remaining 50% on completion.
If you cancel a bespoke commission before we start building, 40% of the price is refunded. The other 10% is not, because the drawings and the design time are already done by then. The returns page sets this out in full.
What to expect from timber
These are handmade objects, made from a natural material, that live outside.
Grain, colour and small details vary from one piece to the next. Timber moves a little with the weather, and a new piece will weather and settle over its first year. That is the nature of the thing rather than a fault.
What is not normal is a joint failing, a fitting breaking or water getting in where it should not. That is covered by our guarantee.
Cancelling, returns and our guarantee
You have 14 days from delivery to change your mind about anything in our standard range, and a five year guarantee on our workmanship. The returns page sets both out in full and forms part of these terms.
To cancel, tell us by phone or email. You can use our cancellation form if you like, but you do not have to.
If something goes wrong
Call 01233 822 457 or email hello@granddadrobdesigns.co.uk and tell us what has happened. We would always rather hear about a problem than not.
If we cannot sort it out there and then, we will tell you what we are doing about it and when you will hear from us next.
Our photographs, drawings and designs
The photographs on this site, the drawings we produce, and the designs of the things we make are ours. They belong to Granddad Rob Designs Ltd.
Copying them, or reproducing them anywhere else, without our permission is an infringement of our intellectual property rights.
If you would like to use a photograph or write about our work, just ask. We are usually glad to say yes.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you keep the protection of your own consumer law and you can bring proceedings in your own courts.
